A concert to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United Colonies officially becoming the United States of America on September 9, 1776. According to the National Constitution Center: “On September 9, 1776, the Second Continental Congress adopted a new name for what had been called the "United Colonies.” The moniker United States of America has remained since then as a symbol of freedom and independence.”

We will have performances by the West Bay Chorale, the Pawtuxet Rangers, the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble and our own Benjamin Nacar, who will lead all in a sing-along of patriotic songs.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission (RI250).
Parking: Shuttle service for the Concert will be available to and from the RI Scottish Rite (2115 Broad Street, Cranston 02905) at 15 minute intervals from 1pm to an hour after the event ends. Parking will NOT be available at Pawtuxet Park and is very limited on the streets near the Park.
