There were thirteen colonies which banded together to rise up against British King George, The Third, in 1776. The colony Rhode Island was one of them. The other twelve were Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. Please chose one of these twelve colonies, not Rhode Island, and examine in essay form, its founding as a colony and the events that led this colony to declare its independence from England.
