Details:
  • Check In:  Scottish Rite Masonic Center, Broad Street and Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI
  • Start:  Broad Street at Chiswick Road, Cranston, RI
  • Course:  5K (3.1 miles), bicycle calibrated by Ray Nelson (South on Broad Street into Warwick onto Narragansett Parkway; turns at General Hawkins Drive and returns North)
  • Finish:  Just past the Parade Review Stand, Rhodes Place, Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet
  • Timing / Results:  Yankee Timing & Event Management
  • Thrills:  Running in front of a very large, cheering crowd pre-assembled to view the Parade that follows.
  • Competition:  953 registered runners finished in 2010
  • Post-race activities:  Refreshments free to all runners. The race immediately precedes the Gaspee Days Parade. Runners and their families can enjoy a fun-filled morning and afternoon.  There is also a colonial encampment and muster set up in Pawtuxet Park. Everyone is welcome.
  • Proceeds:  All proceeds go to funding the Gaspee Days Parade.
  • Rest Rooms:  Portable. ***NO SHOWERS OR CHANGING FACILITIES***
  • Exclusions:  Sorry, Insurance requirements force us to prohibit use of strollers or baby carriers by participants.
  • Fees:

    • Regular entry (day of race until 9:15 AM): $30

Directions:  Have we got maps for youse! 
Parking:  Side streets North of 5K start. Walk to registration as Broad Street closes early.  WARNING!  Steep fines exist for illegal parking, so be careful if parking on the side roads near the 5K and Parade. Alternative parking is available at the William Hall Library, just North of Park Avenue/Broad Street intersection in Cranston, with a  0.4 mi walk South to 5K start.
